Two Frazer-Nash engineers are helping to organise the 2020 Global Engineering Futures Challenge, a competition that invites early career engineers to create a sustainability infographic.
The competition, run by Global Engineering Futures – a network of engineers which fosters problem solving and creative thinking on global sustainability issues though events, partnerships and competitions – is open to early career engineers across the world. It asks entrants to create an infographic that showcases an engineering solution to help deliver the UN Sustainable Development Goals, which include climate change and environmental degradation.
Frazer-Nash’s James Lamyman, one of the organisers, says:
“Infographics are a really useful way of getting an idea across in a simple, visual way. We’re looking for relevant and innovative solutions to sustainability challenges, which could have a significant impact globally.
“The competition winner will receive mentorship from a senior leader from industry, and will be published across our global networks and platforms.
Frazer-Nash’s Emma Johnston is also one of the organisers. Emma said:
“Sustainability is such a broad topic – it goes beyond reducing waste and carbon emissions. We’re looking forward to seeing infographics of novel solutions, whether from a research project or start-up, or new takes on existing solutions. But they must demonstrate a positive impact on the advancement of sustainable development. The bolder the solution, the better.”
The competition will be judged by a team of experts, including Frazer-Nash Consultant, Sam Honeysett, who regularly designs infographics on subjects as diverse as the future of unmanned aerial systems and carbon capture, utilisation and storage.
