Frazer-Nash will be joining organisations across the UK as they celebrate Armed Forces Day (formerly Veterans' Day) on 26 June.
Armed Forces Day celebrations begin on Monday 21 June when the Armed Forces Day flag is raised on buildings and famous landmarks around the country. The annual event has taken place in late June since 2006, and commemorates the service of men and women in the British Armed Forces, raising awareness and appreciation for those on active duty, reservists and members of the Veteran community.
Director of Frazer-Nash’s Defence Business, Rupert Bridges, said:
“We’re pleased to be celebrating Armed Forces Day in 2021. As a signatory to the Armed Forces Corporate Covenant, we’ve pledged to support the forces community, and to recognise the value that its members – and their families – contribute to business and to the country. Within our Frazer-Nash family we have many ex-service personnel, each of whom makes an extensive contribution to the company, and the work we deliver to our customers.
“We are an armed forces-friendly organisation, and support the employment of service leavers through working with the Career Transition Partnership, as we know their skills, experience, and knowledge can translate seamlessly into commercial environments. These qualities are a perfect complement to the skills from industry, academia and other sources within our teams, and allow us to deliver a blended skill-set that solves the challenging problems of our clients across diverse sectors, including defence."
The date for Armed Forces Day was chosen to align with the investiture of the first Victoria Crosses, presented to 62 Armed Forces personnel by Queen Victoria in Hyde Park, London in 1857. Events are held across the UK, with one town or city chosen to host the lead event. Find out more at https://www.armedforcesday.org.uk/.
