AMTecH serves as a catalyst for innovation in the manufacturing sector, bringing together like-minded individuals and organisations who want to make a difference, influence stakeholders and help the manufacturing sector grow.
As the spearhead of this initiative, Frazer-Nash is committed to fostering an innovative, influential and impactful environment where participants can all benefit by leveraging our combined capabilities and strengths.
The forum encompasses industry and manufacturing heavyweights, including MAKE UK, the Manufacturing Technologies Association and the High Value Manufacturing Catapult community. During the day, over 65 delegates from a diverse group of organisations spanning academia, research bodies, small medium enterprise (SMEs) and industry joined together for presentations, panel discussions and networking.
Attendees heard speakers discussing the challenges currently facing UK manufacturing, including the MOD on their advanced manufacturing strategy, Birmingham City University on the power of digital twins and from ASTM International on the standards landscape. Guests also heard about specific technologies: Hot Isostatic Pressing (HIP) and Electron Beam Welding (EBW), and from two incredibly thought-provoking panel sessions on digital and automation and on the skills pipeline.
Steve Lawler, Senior Business Manager, Frazer-Nash Consultancy said:
“I’m delighted we had such a fantastic response and turn-out to the forum. It was brilliant to see industry, research, trade bodies and SMEs in the same room, discussing key topics and coming away with tangible actions.
I hope that through our collaborative efforts the Advanced Manufacturing sector can contribute to further growth in the UK.
Thank you to all our attendees and I’m very much looking forward to our next event in April.”
