Celebrating two diverse journeys to Fellowship

Dr Janet Wilson and Dr Quoc Do have been formally recognised as Fellows of Engineers Australia. Speaking at the presentation in the company’s Adelaide office, Jonathan Armstrong, Director - Australian Business, said:

Janet’s journey to Fellowship includes overcoming gender bias to rise to the highest levels of the engineering profession. That deserves respect and is part of what makes her a great role model. She has also helped shape the profession by bringing advances in technology into mainstream engineering.

Quoc’s early story is both challenging and deeply personal. A refugee from Vietnam, he arrived in Australia aged 12, having missed most of his primary years schooling and with little English. Australia welcomed Quoc with open arms and he embraced the opportunities it offered.
