Frazer-Nash Space Strategy Lead, Ali Stickings, took part in BBC Radio 4’s The Briefing Room on 23 December, discussing space war with David Aaronovitch.
The show, a weekly, half-hour current affairs programme looks in depth at issues in the news. The interviewer takes the role of a newly appointed minister, or Prime Minister, who requires a briefing from his expert guests on a subject about which he has limited knowledge.
The episode in which Ali offered her expert input, alongside Shashank Joshi, the Defence Editor of The Economist, can be found on the BBC’s website at https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b07cblx9. Titled ‘Space Wars and Laws’, it asked whether space is the next frontier for warfare, and what issues would arise from this.
Ali can also be heard as a guest on the Royal United Services Institute’s (RUSI’s) recent ‘War in Space’ podcast series, at https://rusi.org/podcasts/war-in-space/episode-2-space-weather-orbital-velocities-and-sputniks-nose-cone; and recently featured in BBC Radio 4’s ‘The World This Weekend’ on 21 November, speaking to Jonny Dymond about space.
